Oh Happy Day fabric stack

I’ll take 2 please! 28 fat quarter cuts of Anna Maria Horner’s Little Folks voile

I was at my local awesome fabric shop Stitch Lab perusing their new fabrics when I spied a bolt of this new Little Folks voile with a group of others leaning against the wall in the corner, the waiting to be stuffed in the shelves with the others pile. I yelped when I saw it, so much so that the clerk who was busy around the corner came to see if I was ok and then fawned with me for a moment over how lovely the fabric is. I have spied the entire collection online many many times, but there is nothing like having a whole bolt in your hands to consider; feeling the hand of the fabric, seeing the true colour and the repeating pattern, holding it up to the light, etc..

Click on over to Anna Maria Horner’s site and view all of her lovely fabric lines! The hype surrounding this fabric line is well justified. This fabric is 100% cotton, but feels softer than silk! This is not lofty like the double gauze, just light and smoooth. To be honest, it would be so so hard to cut into this fabric (unless I really did have the whole collection in my fabric closet). I might just be buying the small bundles & scraps from Anna Maria’s site. How awesome would a quilt be with the voile top and folksy flannel backing though?

I left that voile there that day, but that voile hasn’t left my mind; the name of a new song I am writing.
