Heather Ross has just posted on her blog that she will be releasing a Far Far Away (part 2) fabric line later this year! More than welcome news to fabric addicts wordwide that thought the current line was the last fabric we would be seeing from Ross.  Even better yet is that it is to be printed on a linen/cotton blend, which feels like a soft canvas and is a dream to sew with! My sewing machine seems to prefer it, and so do I.

Heather Ross fabric designs have a sweet dainty hand-drawn style with small clean lines and is often based on fantasy icons such as gnomes, mermaids & unicorns. It looks like this line will feature rose blossoms, lily of the valley, foxgloves and on the fantasy side: Rapunzel, Sleeping Beauty and the Owl & The Pussycat! I want to eat up bolts and bolts of this stuff. Please click on over to her blog post about it *here*.

fabric stack from Bolt

Speaking of bolts and Heather Ross.. Ruben & Maria brought me this lovely group of Japanese fabrics from Bolt in Portland, Oregon. The sweetest gift for fabric addicts! They said the folks at Bolt were really helpful in choosing out what fabric I might like and I couldn’t have done it better myself. That is a Ross frog on a lily pad looking up at you in the picture above from her Far Far Away line and also some Echino wildlife both printed on a dreamy double gauze; two sheer cotton layers delicately stitched together. This fabric is soft and billowy and gently insists on becoming something cozy. There is a linen/cotton blend hiding at the bottom there with matroshka dolls and folksy horses. Japan has the coolest fabrics. Thanks to Japan, Kokka for the new Heather Ross line, Bolt & my family.
