Gina Pina - Tula 100 City Sampler

I am Gina Pina. A fabric obsessed quilter living in east Austin since 2001. When I am not knee deep in fabric I can be found tinkering with one of the many vintage sewing machines that seem to follow me home.

Inspired by the love of fabric, I spend day and night always sewing new things and learning more about design, art and the fabric industry. I am endlessly curious to learn more, especially by experience.

Motivated by the need for high quality attention to detail with modern design I have turned my focus towards longarm machine quilting my own quilts to sell and also quilting for others. To me, quilts are very personal and archival pieces of functional art.

What else? I love long walks at Quilt Market.. and cats. Although sadly for the potential instagram hearts my cats are not allowed in my quilting studio. I have a 100 lb. rescue Akita, Kuma, king of naps. I am fortunate to have family & friends that have endured me talking about quilts and supported me all the way.

hey there gina. I read about your iPhone and have heard that sticking it in a bowl full of rice also helps. Everything looks so amazing that you create.

Nice to meet you at Quiltcon! I worked the registration booth with you on Thursday afternoon. I want to join the Austin Modern Quilt Guild and plan to be there on the 28th.

    Hey Gina,
I don’t have your email address so I came here to tell you how freaking awesome you are! You were amazing at QuiltCon and I loved getting to know you and working with you. QuiltCon wouldn’t have been the same without you. Maybe the next time I’m in Austin you can take me to your hair guy/gal and I can get some color…I want to be as cool as you!
Again, it was awesome for me to be a part of the team and it was a better event because of you!
    All the best,

    • So long as any part of the world is extremely poor, and the USA is very rich (and generous with welfare), the USA will attract immigrants, legal and illegal. When will we cease to draw immigrants? When we cease being a desirable place to live.In other words, we need immigration enforcement and to reduce legal immigration. That's really all there is to it.

March 29th 2012 – 5:46pmHey, thanks ND gals (and guy)!! This is so nice. I loved creating all the jewelry designs I did while working with Becky. Warm wishes and continued success (and hugs) to you all!

    • Josh – Much obliged, sir – and buying it twice is above and beyond the call of duty. I make a pittance out of the Kindle purchase, a few cents each time, but I'm not doing it for the money – it's simply a matter of trying to get the book to the maximum number of readers. Cheers, Dec

I need a King size or King size extra large to use as a bedspread for my daughter’s home. She has the main color in her bedroom of sage green. Do you have anything made that fits that description or do you know of any one who might have one that would fit that description and be for sale? Another possibility would be for me to have one made by someone who is willing.

    Hi Gina –

I LOVE the work you’re doing with quilts. The green/pink one on your coverpage is magnificent! I don’t see any bags on your site, but would like to ask if you could make some bags for my summer beach weekend again. I would need 11 bags, and am thinking the same size as last time would work, or maybe a bit shorter/deeper, just to have them look a little different. I’d need them by June 11. I’d like to have a patriotic theme (red/white/blue) and I’m still obsessed with the mexican oil cloth, but am open to other options.

Let me know if you need to chat and I hope we can work together again.

  • I believe what you published was actually very reasonable.
But, what about this? what if you were to write a awesome
headline? I am not suggesting your content isn’t good, however what if you added a headline that makes people desire more?

I mean About | ginapina is kinda plain. You might peek at Yahoo’s home page and see how they create post headlines to get
viewers to click. You might add a video or a pic or two to grab readers interested about everything’ve written. Just my opinion, it would
make your posts a little livelier.
