I found these mini books at Toy Joy (a chaotic Austin toy treasure) and had them sitting on my craft room shelf for a long while. I got them out as a take-along craft that would give me something crafty yet not time or thought intensive. These little books and felt-tip markers was all I needed. At first I was a little concerned about not knowing the true colours of the bird species and was flipping through an image search on my iphone when I realised I could make these birds any colour I want! We do have quite a bit of Cardinals and Blue Jays flying around here, but pink birds are quite rare! It does make the cold day we are having in Austin seem less grey.
